• Street Pastors are Christian volunteers from local congregations who have a concern for their communities.
• After training, teams go out at night to engage with people where they are, on their ground and on their terms.
• The main role is to make themselves available to listen, care, support and help people, especially young people, to feel safe in their neighbourhoods or night-time venues and give assistance when needed.
• They work holistically and equally with all people of all faiths and none. Though the Christian faith is at the heart of what they do and why they do it, it is not at the forefront of what they say:
• Street Pastors are not about preaching but practical demonstration of the love of God.
