Funding for further
training/development for presbyters and deacons
Grants are available for various
training and development courses for presbyters and deacons who are currently
serving in the Bolton and Rochdale Methodist District.
Guidelines
followed in assessing applications are set out in the “Growth in Ministry”
report to the Methodist Conference of 2005.

Summary
of recommendations:
5) The Circuits, Districts, Connexion and Diaconal Order may
determine that some particular training or development is required.
Such training shall be free of charge to the individual participating minister and the costs of travel will be met.
Costs will be met by the body that requires the training to be
undertaken.
6) Any other professional development, training or personal
vocational development shall involve a financial stake of at least one third of
the total costs by the participating minister.
