As the world prepares to mark the 200th anniversary of the Abolition of The Slave Trade Act, Bible Society is thrilled to offer you The Walk on DVD – the story of William Wilberforce, his faith, and his journey to free millions from the bonds of slavery.

Available exclusively from resources@biblesociety at just £9.99, this astonishing historical drama chronicles a defining moment in Wilberforce’s life – the moment when his political career became a powerful anti-slavery campaign.

Already performed on stage and before MPs to universal acclaim, The Walk stars the original stage actor Andrew Harrison, and is the third highly-successful collaboration between writer and director Murray Watts (The Miracle Maker), and producer Norman Stone (Shadowlands, Beyond Narnia).

Running at 28 minutes, the film is an ideal length for cell groups, and the DVD also features these added extras – FREE:

  • The Unchaining Word, a small group study guide on the Bible and slavery.
  • The Making of the Walk – a 14 minute documentary.
  • A timeline of the struggle to end the Transatlantic slave trade.

And in addition, related resources for GCSE RE, GCSE/A level Media Studies and Sixth Form General Studies/Citizenship are available to download FREE from www.biblesociety.org.uk/thewalk

Bible Society is thrilled to be the exclusive distributor of The Walk, a production that reinforces the power and the influence of the Bible in our world – past, present and future.
